Beef Back Ribs
Rib Recipe – Crock Pot Sweet ‘n’ Spicy Ribs
Mix together in a large crock pot:
5 cups barbecue sauce, your favorite recipe or brand
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 TB Cajun seasoning
1 TB garlic powder
1 TB onion powder
Mix well and remove 1 cup of sauce and reserve in the refrigerator for dipping.
Place in crock pot on top of sauce:
6 lb. pork or beef ribs, cut into 3 rib portions
Mix well to coat ribs with sauce.
Cover and cook on LOW heat setting for 8 hours or until meat is tender.
Uncover, remove ribs. Skim fat from sauce. Serve with reserved sauce for dipping.
Makes 10 servings.
Short Rib – Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs
4 lbs beef short ribs, trimmed of fat
Salt and pepper to taste
2 onions, sliced
2 tsp beef bouillon powder
1/2 tsp liquid gravy browner
1 1/2 cups warm water
Sprinkle short ribs with salt and pepper. Lay onions in bottom of 5
qt. slow cooker. Arrange ribs over top. Stir bouillon powder and gravy browner into warm water. Pour over ribs. Cover. Cook on LOW for 7-9 hrs. or on HIGH for 3 1/2-4 1/2 hrs.
RECIPE – Ribs And Rice – Crock Pot
2 lbs. lean spare ribs
1 1/2 c. water
2 T. maple syrup
2 T. honey
3 T. soy sauce
2 T. barbecue sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
Bake ribs at 350, for 1 hr. (1/2 hr. per side) or broil for 15-20
mins., to remove fat. Cut into single servings. Combine ingredients in crock pot,
then stir to mix. Add ribs. Cover, and cook overnight, or on low for 8 hrs.
Serve over rice.
