TO CURE BEEF. MRS. S. A. POWERS.
FOR FIFTY POUNDS.–Saltpetre, one ounce; sugar, one and three-fourths
pounds; coarse salt, three and one-half pounds; water, two gallons;
boil together; let cool; pour over meat. Keep the meat under the
brine.
