marbled Pound cake

3 cups all purpose flour

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup butter, softened

1 cup plain yogurt

4 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 squares (3 ounces) unsweetened chocolate, melted

Preheat oven to 325ยบ. Coat two 8 1/2 x4 1/2 inch loaf pans with cooking spray

and dust with flour; tap out excess flour.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda in large mixing bowl.

Add butter and beat with an electric mixer on low speed, scraping sides of bowl

often, until mixture resembles moist crumbs. Beat in yogurt, eggs and vanilla

on low speed until blended, about 1 minute; scrape bowl. Beat on high speed,

scraping bowl 2 or 3 times until batter is very light and fluffy.

Pour half of batter into another bowl and stir in melted chocolate. Spoon

white and chocolate batters alternately into prepared pans.

Bake until a wooden skewer inserted in the centers of the cakes comes out

dry, and the top of the cakes are firm to the touch, 45-55 minutes. Remove from

the oven and cool 15 minutes in the pans. loosen sides of cakes with knife and

turn out of pans onto wire racks.
